What kind of emotion does Shai have on the fourth panel?
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 12:08 AM edit delete reply
Shai is simply calming down, and becoming more neutral.

I'm glad it turned out this way. Fighting is just out-of-character for both of them.
Firestar Bloodstones 27th Sep 2013, 12:33 AM edit delete reply
Wouldn't say out of character, Its one male defending his women's honor when she was called a whore. Plus being filled with anger anything can happen, But i am myself happy a fight didn't happen cause that would have ruined it.

True, It good to have cool heads in the group. Cooler heads prevail.
Rembrant 27th Sep 2013, 12:32 AM edit delete reply
Drogan's certainly being mature, despite being a victim, he just lets himself get punched, likely because it's easier for Shaiden to calm down after cutting loose like that.

But I don't really buy the whole thing being due to Amo's nature as a Death Knight. Destructive is one thing, but her idea of sex with Drogan being a possibility for not being undead anymore, that's like the opposite of destructive, especially since she's doing it in part for Shaidan himself. Her not even consulting them with either one of the guys was dumb, not destructive. Now, her instigating the whole argument and adding fuel to the fire, now that certainly counts as destructive.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 7:30 AM edit delete reply
The way I see it, if Amo's personality was not tainted by what she was, she would have waited, and talked to both parties before acting on it.

Also, even though it seems like the intentionally instigated that fight, it really was not her intent.
Rembrant 28th Sep 2013, 12:04 AM edit delete reply
Open mouth, insert leather boots, huh? Well, still, it was pretty bad. But this whole thing about Death Knights being chaotic to an extent just by the very nature of being Death Knights is intriguing.

I hope Amo dies...for good.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 7:32 AM edit delete reply
Thats a little harsh dont you think? People make mistakes, and sure she created some drama with her actions, but is that really deserving of final death?
PersonFellow 27th Sep 2013, 12:51 PM edit delete reply
YES. I hate that girl! Just because she's a death knight doesn't mean she can just go out and sleep with anyone she wants on a whim. Death Knights aren't consumed by lust, they have almost NO concept or emotion towards lust. What she did was completely with a level head and she did it because she wanted to. Death Knights aren't even supposed to feel pleasure, being undead. I used to respect Amo until she started acting like this. It's caused me to hate her fully, and I hope she -does- die. She's not a Man'ari, or even affiliated with the Legion, so why would she want to fuck someone? It doesn't make sense.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 12:57 PM edit delete reply
She did not do it cause of Lust. Perhaps you should go back and re-read the comic a bit.

She believed that doing it would give her life by taking some of the essence of a life dragon in her. It was a stupid and desperate decision.
Zack Cloud 27th Sep 2013, 9:56 PM edit delete reply
it's only a matter of time until she starts screwing Serid.
Rin_dear 28th Sep 2013, 3:08 AM edit delete reply
I fully agree. You have to go back and read, and then you'd understand why she did what she did. Plus, even if she DID act out of lust, that really, REALLY is not deserving of death. Wanting someone to die for that reason alone is evil.
Veritas 28th Sep 2013, 5:06 AM edit delete reply
...are you even paying attention? The comment right above yours says she didn't do Drogan out of lust. If the red dragon queen herself couldn't cure the plague, and sleeping with a red dragon paladin (as a more personal connection) can't do it, some random druid certainly isn't going to do it. Cenarius himself might be plausible (though in all likelihood he couldn't do anything about it either), but a druid who happens to be close by? Screwing him wouldn't do a single thing and she'd have no reason to believe it would.

And this is coming from someone who thinks she needs some major time in the doghouse for what she's done lately.

I ask that everybody else do not reply to Zack's statements, they will also be deleted.

Lets all try to keep this a drama free zone. I am all for discussions and debates, but know when you are crossing that line.

I like this page.

With the way Shai is talking now, he's showing he still loves Amo. But isn't above giving her a little fun poke.

Hopefully with all this, the drama from this is all over.

Hmmmmmmmm...Would you consider the Death Knights to be a different form of life, Amocin? Being undead certainly seems to make those area's merky.

This is a concept as a Life Dragon and a Paladin that Drogan can not understand, so he is naturally curious about it.
Veritas 27th Sep 2013, 12:10 PM edit delete reply
In fairness, Shai is the one who said it was in her nature to be destructive. If he knew that going in (which is not necessarily the case, I don't know the full timeline there), it's a fair point. Even treating it as "why do you still put up with it?" it's still hardly uncalled for.

Wait, if Amo told Shai that she slept with Drogan. Did that mean she also told him that Drogan was a dragon?

Yes, because it was the whole reason why she slept with him in the first place. If he had not been a red dragon, she wouldnt have done it.

Seeing the chaos that comes from your comic postings,is the perfect reading material for my morning coffee *chuckles*

I do have to applaud you. I freak out now when I do not have my pc with me on Friday mornings now because I just HAVE to see what happens next. You make me feel so much for your characters. Drogan's frustration, Amo's trying to make light of the situation to pump up her husband's ego. How you could see how bad she felt after sleeping with Drogan in the sex scene, how she immediately confessed to Shai what she did...that shows her true love for her husband. Makes you just go..."oh you so did not just call her a whore". You have a way with making people die from waiting for the next week's post.

And seriously what story would be epic without some drama. Drama makes EVERY story more enticing.

Keep up the amazing work. I cannot wait till next week.

Wait... are we talking about the drama in the Comic or in the Comments? XD
Dreamfox 27th Sep 2013, 9:36 PM edit delete reply
I think both. The comic is great and the Comments are an added bonus. At least that's how I read it.
Phoxx 3rd Oct 2013, 10:49 AM edit delete reply
LOL. I meant the drama in comic. I mean come on, it's the best kind of soap opera ever for women. Forbidden love, Wife cheats for cure to what ails her, and more...

BAM...epic story.
Though I have to say, the drama in the comments make me roll all over the place clutching my sides with the people who get all up in a tizzy over something that isn't even real. So who cares if she cheated on her husband to cure herself...any intelligent being who actually reads the comics knows Amo doesn't run around and screw everything and also could see that she felt horrible after she did it.

Overly sensitive peeps I tell you XD
Veritas 27th Sep 2013, 12:08 PM edit delete reply
Good on both Drogan and Shai in this one. And while it's not perfectly nice behaviour to talk about someone like they aren't present (whether they are or not), especially negatively, well... Amo kind of did bring that on herself, and it's understandable in the circumstances.
HelloGoodbye 27th Sep 2013, 12:53 PM edit delete reply
I certainly agree that Amo should perish. She's a bad egg. And contrary to popular belief; cheating on your significant other isn't cool. At all. Ever. I've seen villains with more integrity than this horrid she-wolf.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 1:00 PM edit delete reply
"Contrary to popular belief" as in some people out there actually believe cheating is cool? I have not read anywhere in the comments where anybody has said that.

I am starting to worry about some of you though.. I am begged for a rape scene, and a person who cheats deserves death..

Hmm, there is certainly something wrong here.

Go with how you want your story to go, I think this comic is great, I am always looking forward to the next week. Glad I saw the banner on a forum, great story.
Japes 27th Sep 2013, 4:44 PM edit delete reply
I read "Contrary to popular belief" as a figure of speech.

On to Amo.

Some people commenting are showing that they have quite some passionate disdain for her character. You can interpret that in a few ways.

The first that would stand out to me would be that readers are really enjoying the story and that they are experiencing genuine feelings for the characters in it. When you think about how long this comic has actually been going for, reading this may have become a routine part of their lives now. So you may not need to take all this vocal contempt for Amo as necessarily a bad thing, it could just be people being a bit too...melodramatic.

On the other hand, there may be a legitimate concern that in her current guise Amo is not a benefit to the cast or story, and so people are not welcoming the shift of the focus on to her. If this is the case, you would have to ask yourself "why is that?". My answer to that would be that Amo is teetering on the edge of being a two dimensional character. Yes she has some story, yes she has some flaws, but sadly one of her flaws is that she is a bit dumb. Exemplified this week by not even realising that Drogan and Shaidan are patronising her because after recent events, any respect for her is currently a negative value. This, and other instances of this kind of behaviour would lead on to people getting frustrated with her character because any redeeming factors she may have do not balance or are outweighed by her inimicality to those around her. She's not an easily likable person, and because of that readers may be finding her hard to relate to, leaving all of her worst traits on the surface without anyone really wanting to look much deeper.

Of course, at the end of the day it's up to you what you decide to do with her character. Fading her in to the background or killing her off might seem like the easiest action, but if severe negative feedback ends up influencing the storyline then people might pick up on that and try and use it to their advantage. That's a can of worms you really don't want to open.
At the moment I think that despite her flaws, Amo is one of the characters that has the most potential, and as they say "any publicity is good publicity" so now may be the perfect opportunity to really build on her.

In closing, hopefully my little essay here doesn't read as being in any way condescending to you, it's written as merely just some food for thought.

On a side note, after seeing the first two panels of this week, all I could think of was this.

I don't care what the bio page says, from this point on, as far as I'm concerned Drogan is a T-800 in a Tauren costume. He even has the red eyes.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 6:14 PM edit delete reply
Oh no, dont get me wrong. I have no problem with people being passionate. For strongly disliking or strongly liking a character. I just find it oddly concerning when somebody wishes death on another, although just a character, simply cause they made a bad choice. This is a little extreme.

And peoples' feelings for a character wont sway my decision on how things go with that character. Thats just now how you run a proper story.
Phoxx 3rd Oct 2013, 10:52 AM edit delete reply
Agree with this 100%.
No matter how bad the deed, no one deserves death. It is not the right of another soul living to deem another worthy of death. For every single person in this thread has done something in their life that makes them flawed in their own way.

Keep up the spectacular work!I can't wait till Friday!
Shadowolf 27th Sep 2013, 8:08 PM edit delete reply
As is see it is it bad she cheated. But death is way over the top, playing revels advicit for this letting her live and seufer is worsh then death. How ever she is scary for what she did and as such her husbands seems to be taking it well knowing how she is. Still I like amo, no one is perfect as thos left feld extremis gees people.
Kulkum 28th Sep 2013, 3:09 PM edit delete reply
It's not that people really want her to die, I think. It is that people today mistake violent intent for passion.

Rather than expressing it in a correctly passionate manor, which may or may not include curses, they think that saying "I hope she dies!" will make it clear how they feel. Thus, it is not a true desire to kill that causes them to do this; it is a lack of the language required to express their anger in a non-violent way.

That's how I feel. Bullshit death threats against people who do wrong happen all too often. Mostly online. Mostly at people that don't actually exist, or are outside of the reach of the person issuing the threat.

Also, love the comic. :)
Rankamateur 27th Sep 2013, 5:12 PM edit delete reply
What Amocin said.

"...Amo should perish."
"...I hope she -does- die."
"T hope Amo dies...for good."

WwwwwOW. Just...WOW. There are REALLY people here that feel a person should die, just because of a bad judgement call? I truly hope these same people never have to face such a verdict because of their own lack of wise decision making...which EVERYONE has been guilty of at one time or another.
Josh.C 27th Sep 2013, 7:50 PM edit delete reply
Agreed, considering life is all about living and learning, it can be rather disconcerting when people can so easily think death is the proper punishment for making a simple mistake in judgment.

Not only that, she made the choice for her marriage with Shai, not totally for her own selfish desires. It was a mistake on Amo's part. But a mistake that Amo needs to die over? I wouldn't think so.
magister gir 28th Sep 2013, 7:39 PM edit delete reply
She's a character that can dir from stupidity. As soon as she made that decisiom she made herself out to be a fool and stupid for not using her brain. She's selfish for not thinking what would happen to EVERYONE. She only thought of herself and her husband. IMO she does deserve to die through her being made a fool of and being stupid if she cant even realize if someone could reverse the lich kings power they would of already. So no, not death by sleeping with someone else, but death through not having a brain to make a good decision, hell one that doesn't require much thought which just happened to be asking a question. Seriously had she just asked him if it was possible then it would of been fine even if she STILL slept with him. Despicable ye but acceptable.
Amocin 28th Sep 2013, 9:04 PM edit delete reply
So in your opinion a character should die for being foolish? Nevermind that most stories are made because somebody did something stupid, did something wrong, or likewise. Take the Lion King for example.. Great movie.. Had Simba been smart enough to go home and tell his mother what had happened, well.. we wouldnt have had a movie now would we? He was scared, and saw no other options then to run. Amo was desperate, and saw an option and wanted to take it before she thought she would loose the chance.

People have flaws, they get desperate, and killing them off because of it, is really poor story telling if you ask me. A foolish decision, or even wrong choice, can help move a story along and make it grow, as well as open up opportunities for that character to grow as well. You build off these things, and dont throw them away simply because it seems the unpopular choice.
Grimlos 29th Sep 2013, 4:28 PM edit delete reply
I'm still intrigued over the fact people are so upset that Amo took her chance with Drogan when she had good reasons. Yes, it was using Drogan in a way, but he consented, and it was cheating on Shai - but NOT emotionally. As Amo did it for both his and her sake. Why do people overlook that fact about her motif? I kinda feel like WTF is people's problem with that a death knight is being pretty much the way you should expect them to be? More carefree, less emotional, badass fighters, opportunists. I feel Amo's character is very misunderstood by a lot of people ATM.

Furthermore. This is a WoW-based comic. Not everything concermomg relations, as we know them IRL, can be translated over to the comic. People seem to have no problems with the other relations between the characters even though they could be considered questionable as well.
LoneWolf 30th Sep 2013, 12:56 AM edit delete reply
That may be, and you're right in the fact that Amo did the wrong thing but for the right reasons, but to a lot of people, infidelity is wrong if not completely unforgivable regardless of the reason behind it because its such a touchy issue that weighs heavily upon people's emotions.
Bloodfalcon 27th Sep 2013, 1:11 PM edit delete reply
Interesting, I figured it would not lead to a fight being that Drogan in a dragon and fighting a Worgon would seem silly even under the situation. Plus I am sure Drogan is a wee bit older than all of them and recognized the best way to defuse the problem is get it done with quick. Did not see it happening as quickly as it did but I am all the same pleased with how it is going thus far.

You know, even though I am enjoy the story.

I do sometimes wonder why certain items like Shai's shoulder guards have that glow to them. Is it just a simple sign that magic is in the armor or is it a visual sign that an effect is magically being active on it or it owner? It's still a neat feature though.
WystalaTricksparrow 27th Sep 2013, 5:25 PM edit delete reply
I'm finding all the death wishing on Amo and now Amocin's note about people wanting a rape scene a definite sign that some people need to stop reading this comic if it's upsetting them so much, and stop getting upset when its story and characters are not progressing/acting how they want them to. This is Amocin's comic, and we're lucky enough it's being shared with the public. It's not here to go exactly how we want and while it does have sexual scenes, they are meant to be tasteful and not drawn to satisfy some perv's fantasy.

Keep up the great work Amocin, just ignore the haters :)

Ok, people? Seriously. Calm down. We don't stone people anymore. Ok?

And by the way, if we killed off every character who was an asshole or made a very bad decision, many stories would be very boring.

BTW, if we did that, Bilbo would have killed Gollum, Frodo would have been driven insane by the ring and Sauron would rule Middle Earth unopposed.
Veritas 28th Sep 2013, 5:02 AM edit delete reply
I'm pretty sure Frodo himself would've been killed sometime in Fellowship for some screw-up or other, if not earlier in life.

To say I'm not happy with Amo right now would be a major understatement - and it's more for the remark last week than it is for getting it on with Drogan. Not that doing so under false pretense was good either, mind, but seriously - how could she NOT know that a catty remark like calling Drogan a bad lay would inflame the already volatile situation?

While I'm glad that Drogan and Shaidan Were able to cool off, I honestly hope that Shaidan doesn't simply forgive Amo so soon. I understand her desperation and her love for Shaidan, but what she did should still cause a rift in their relationship. While I don't want to see their relationship come to an end, I think that a rift in their relationship would add on to the story where, while their relationship took a major blow, Amo is able to make amends and mend the wounds that her actions created and that it would take some time before Shaidan would truly forgive her. This is just my opinion though and I really enjoy this comic and I always get excited when its finally Friday.

Also I have to ask; Where is koutack? I figured he'd be right outside and I think that it would be funny if he was trying to make a snow(worgen?)man and winds up hacking it to pieces because he couldn't get the not right.
Amocin 27th Sep 2013, 10:29 PM edit delete reply
I dont think anybody is so forgiving that they could just completely forget what happened. This problem isnt over and done with just yet, and there is still more backlash to come from it.. But there wont be any issues between the two males anymore.

Koutack is outside, not far off. As Drogan and Koutack were posted very close to the opening of the cave on watch. He will show up next page.

I have to say reading this comic that the deathknight, really don't care for names,is a character that can be killed off of from stupidity. She believed that one person could reverse the effects of being a deathknight or at least "revive" her womb is just "wtf really? What am i reading?!". I enjoy the comic but as of late have really started to grow distant from it thanks to the death knight and her selfishness. Had she at least ask him if it would work then it would be alright but the fact that she assumed on a whim for it to work and then try and defend herself no way that's just stupid and imo warrants a character that can be killed off later.

Honestly there's just no way of putting it other then "what the hell is wrong with her head?" You would think if someone had that kind of power the lichking saga would of just never existed in the first place.
Kit 30th Sep 2013, 7:04 AM edit delete reply
"You would think if someone had that kind of power the lichking saga would of just never existed in the first place."

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt that anybody normally would ever test the theory that being screwed by a red dragon would revert deathknight undeath. Amo might be the first person ever to try this theory, and the premise is sound. Red dragons are the dragons of life. I mean, he just stepped on the lifeless, snow-covered permafrost and the moment his foot left, there was life there. So it's not at all a leap of logic to think that maybe, if his foot can bring life to permafost, something of him could bring life to her and allow her to live with her husband and not go through the pain of watching him grow old and die. The posit was incorrect, but when faced with the alternatives, she had to take the chance she had.
Guest 3rd Oct 2013, 11:00 AM edit delete reply
I would have to disagree. If there was any plausible way to reverse the effect of the lich kings power they would of tested it thoroughly but to Ano "derp he cums in me I'm be alive" the only thing i can honestly think of happening is her getting pregnant (which is a god awful idea if its put in) because his seed is capable of reviving a single egg for it to fertilize and live in her. That's it. So i still stand by the argument she's a character that can be killed off from just stupidity. There's really no justifying her actions and not just asking the red dragon "hey if i fuck you do you think it'll reverse the lich kings effect on me?"
Amocin 3rd Oct 2013, 11:40 AM edit delete reply
Again, dieing because they did something stupid is bad story telling. Read any story, or even movie, and see that a foolish choice is usually what drives the story along. Do the characters die because of this choice? No, because it is an opportunity for that character to grow.

As for weather or not the Red Dragons tried to seek a cure for the DKs, or tested it as well as you think.. Thankfully thats my choice, as it was only ever mentioned that a male DK asked the Red Queen and she pretty much told him it was not possible. Reds I see more as warrior types.. Blues I see more as the scientists who would actually go through rigorous testing methods.

I don't think there's a need to defend her because the "just fucked up" defense is pretty damn realistic and reasonable. In fact, all other attempts to justify her actions just dilute the honesty.

So, let's all ignore how loving and good-natured her adultery was and instead do a much needed face palm for her epic planning failure.

And then we can see how she does in the recovery/diplomacy faze.

So here is an observation i did make, why did Drogan go work with this party for a quest like this without getting to know anyone at all before hand? It would be better to know who you are working with so that you know strengths and weaknesses of everyone and how to compensate for each other and he couldve known that Amo was married to Sari. The last part may be a small possiblity but proper introductions couldve avoided them being angry at each other and Amo talking to Sari first... but kudos for them not breaking out into a bloody fight when there are more undead enroute

He got to know about Kinar and Serid, as those were set in the group. He told them to bring two others, so he had no idea who they were bringing. Really he only cared about knowing about Kinar, and as fans commonly mistake Kinar and Amo as sisters, I made him make that mistake as well.

"When she isn't being a comeplete bitch, I can see the good in her" ... as if there wasn't any good in that too.

I've been loosely following this comic and going through the entire story I cant seem to understand where the surprise comes in that amo cheats on her husband for a chance to live again. Honestly if I WERE her husband yes I might be a little upset at the method, but honestly I'd want my wife to be alive to be able to bare my children and help my carry on my name. With this mindset, the argument between myself and drogon wouldnt me much more intense than what happened on this particular page once I remembered why she did it, and she came and confessed to me right away to boot... she could have just as easily made another foolish decision and attempted to hide it.

The death wishes are astounding me too. "She should die because she's foolish and made a mistake." "She should die cause shes an adulterer." "She should die," this and that and the other thing... I say this to you people now... LIGHTEN UP AND LETS BE REAL. You would have her put to death for being human... in nature... SO since she isnt perfect polly, and maybe doesnt always htink things through.. neither did you when you made your last decision... lets not be so harsh about the situation folks. Save all the death-wishing for the enemy. Amo is still one of the good guys here... again, still just made a bad decision.

People who wish death on others, whether they are real or not, simply have no respect for the value and joy of life, and therefore do not deserve the gift of life themselves.

Just an observation...

My observation is that that's a terrible observation.
