You didn't have to do the comic this week Amo...

As a fellow dog owner/lover myself, I know all too well the feeling of when the animals we love must pass on. All my love to you, Amocin, everything will be all right in time.

Mmmm tauren deer form, and yes Ammo, if your not feeling great, dont burn yourself out by trying to get a comic out on time. Everyone understands that your personal life, be it health or family, comes first.

You don't have to apologize for the delay.
And you have my condolences.

I keep looking forward for fridays, Awesome job and dedication Amo! Take care now

Bet Kinar will be jealous, the stag form is what, his second form other than his basic kitty form and firecat i believe?

I want to say these forms Kaitrin has, I can`t remember the term Wow uses for shapeshifters, to be is his specialization. The artowrk is well drawn and colored Amocin, I been reading this for quite a while, sort of being a ghost. You improved quite a bit since the first two chapters when i first saw your FA page out of curiosity one day. but try not to tackle more than you can handle if you are not feeling well.
Amocin 22nd Aug 2014, 9:07 AM edit delete reply
Kaitrin has access to all shapeshift forms, even ones that are not druid specific. You can get a couple of shape shift abilities by getting items in game. The Sandstone Drake is especially hard to grind for, but it is also a shape shift form that allows you to fly, and carry a fellow player.
Brefin 22nd Aug 2014, 11:12 AM edit delete reply
I freely admit my main is a tauren feral arch druid and I totally claim the Sandstone drake as him practicing shape shifting.

Also yay for her dry wit. I've missed it.
Kit 22nd Aug 2014, 11:20 AM edit delete reply
Native druid forms are Cat, Bear, Aquatic (sea lion), Travel (Stag now, used to be a cheetah), Flight (Stormcrow technically), Moonkin for Balance druids only, and Treant for Restoration druids only. Kaitrin is balance, so he can access druid forms other than Treant. Then there is a specialization that druids can use to make it possible for other people to ride them when they are a stag.

Being a good druid, Kaitrin also has collected numerous artifacts in game that allow for other form shifting, such as turning into a wolf, a sandstone drake, a little dragon whelpling, and other things. How this translates in comic is up to Amocin, but it's fun to have the forms in game. :)

It's also fun to see such a solution being made use of in the comic. ^.^ Kaitrin is more of a pacifist for the most part on my side of him, but still stacks crit and nuke stuff just in case (makes the chance that a given spell will hit for 75% or more of the enemy's health pretty substantial. Takes a bit of effort, but in game he can effectively focus several things at once and be pretty much guaranteed to hit for well over 200% of most enemies' (not bosses!) health. The downside is that is a short duration of focus and then back to normal hurting things. Not too bad there, with Moonfire everything combined with Starfall and some HoT on himself, but not the one-or-two-shot nuclear blast.
Atlas 23rd Aug 2014, 12:14 AM edit delete reply
As you say "Pacifist" i think back to my rouge which i'm ironically quite friendly on but sadly the horde never sees it that way... sucks that it seems only the alliance can see a friendly horde player, not a locked on target, and the horde... not at all friendly to the alliance... at least not on my server, Azgalor...
Amocin 23rd Aug 2014, 2:32 AM edit delete reply
I dont know, I was that friendly Horde person at one time. I was in an area where I had to kill a ton of bears or something, and after awhile I noticed that there was an Alliance dude following behind me. I originally thought he was going to kill me but then he just started to skin everything I killed and looted.. So we started to communicate with gestures. I killed something for my quest items and then pointed him to it. It was a nice little thing we had going... until another Horde dude came over and killed him for fun.. I was rightfully upset, because the alliance guy did nothing to provoke such an attack, and we were clearly working together in harmony for some time..
Atlas 23rd Aug 2014, 2:50 AM edit delete reply
Had that happen on my human warrior once, i was 75 lvling in Northrend and a 85 troll druid was following and skinning and an 85 tauren druid started doing so as well, yet here comes an orc warrior, lvl 85, wrecks and camps me for no reason what so ever so the tauren AND the troll friend me somehow and said the'll try to get him to go away... but that was then and now since Pandaland i have not had such a kindness from any horde what so ever, now it's always kill on sight for any Alliance that moves...
Shade 26th Aug 2014, 12:41 AM edit delete reply
Killing random players is something my dad would do just for fun, everytime I visit my patent's house he'd be online laughing his ass off because he killed some player with a jet or tank on GTA, Im scared what he'd do in WoW, (anarchy most likely lol)

Losing a pet is like losing a family member, you have my condolences Amocin and do hope you feel better soon. As others have said don't burn yourself out on the comic if you don't feel like working on it. Anyone not willing to be empathetic and not give you the time you may need isn't worth the trouble of appeasing.
Rembrant 22nd Aug 2014, 4:38 PM edit delete reply
That helps out with the plan, certainly. There must be a lot more shape-shifting forms than I thought, this one is cool too.

Just found this website and read the whole thing in one shot, just wow. This is really good XD
Just one question, does the story just start off in the first page? Or is there an introduction to the characters, why they are like that... etc somewhere else? :)
If not for reading it the second time, I wouldn't have understood the characters, and why they could switch forms. XD
Anyways, I'm glad to stumble upon this website, and will be following the series :)
Instead of 163 pages a day, I'll get 1 a week from now on ._. oh well...
Amocin 24th Aug 2014, 12:59 AM edit delete reply
This comic is based off the MMO World of Warcraft, so a lot of the stuff was done assuming the audience would know the rules in game, so much wasnt explained. I have only recently had the characters explaining things in ways to help the audience, and for that i am sorry. A druid is a class of people who can shapeshift and call magic from the powers of nature. A lot of WoW classes are very similar to that of D&D and other gaming systems, though with slight changes and abilities.

Ah I see... After reading all of it, I attempted to find some more comics similar to this kind of quality, but to no avail :( I guess I'll just stick with 1 then :3
Anyways, thanks for giving me more information on this comic, looking forward to the next update! Cheers

Psssttt Amocin! I thought druids couldn't use their travel forms within buildings? I know I cant... damn shamans and their ghost wolf forms.. Or will the blizz rules about us druids not apply for story sake?
Either way! I love your drawing of the stag form! ^_^ <3
Amocin 25th Aug 2014, 12:41 AM edit delete reply
A few game mechanics have been changed for the comic. Death is final, everybody does not get to resurrect by returning to their body in wisp form. Those who have the ability to resurrect must do so very shortly after the person has died, and must be top level casters. Travel forms and mounts are able to access areas where them and their rider can fit comfortably, if they have to squeeze through any areas, they have to change, or the mount has to be left behind.

I understand this is completely off topic but i nominate you to donate $100 for luke Garrets disease or do the ice water challenge
Amocin 25th Aug 2014, 9:16 AM edit delete reply
I dont wish to call you out or make this a horrible thing, but please make sure people have the money to donate before you ask them to. Also we are in a drought, and such waste of water/ice is bad during this time of year. We need to find a better challenge for this that does not harm our environment.
Shade 25th Aug 2014, 6:43 PM edit delete reply
This guy is another example of why I hate most people, seriously. Why dump ice water on your head over charity? And how the hell did this annoying thing ever begin anyway? Doesn't anyone know doing this can cause a stroke as well?
Boomer 25th Aug 2014, 1:16 AM edit delete reply
Amocin, since the name you go buy and Amo's is similar, is her personality based off yours, or suppose to represent you as a person? Or did you come up with name randomly and everything is completely coincidental?
Amocin 25th Aug 2014, 9:18 AM edit delete reply
The name selection was somewhat random. Amo and i have nothing in common. I do not see myself in Amo, nor does she have the qualities I would pick for myself in a character. This comic was originally intended to be less then 20 pages, and I needed a name for a secondary character quickly, so I put that down. Had I known she would turn into a fan fav, or have so much time in comic, I would have chosen a different name for her.
Dreamfox 28th Aug 2014, 8:47 AM edit delete reply
Uh oh...
Careful there.
I know of a pulp series that was supposed to go 50 issues. Well, I'm getting issue 2767 tomorrow.
Shade 2nd Sep 2014, 12:27 AM edit delete reply
How much time would someone put in a comic like that? That is a bit scary. I would never make a comic that long. D:
Shade 26th Aug 2014, 12:33 AM edit delete reply
Why don't you take a break? Relax a bit and cool down some? You really need it. Don't over do yourself okay.

The work actually helps, and I did slack for a good portion of the week. I am also working on a picture of him, which helps as well.
Shade 26th Aug 2014, 1:11 AM edit delete reply
Really? Well if it helps you then by all means do what you can to feel better.
Boomer 26th Aug 2014, 1:17 AM edit delete reply
Now I'm extremely curious, you seem to be a busy person yet you say you've been slacking, how much time do you spend on this comic every week? and how much free time do you ever get?
Amocin 26th Aug 2014, 1:34 AM edit delete reply
The comic takes anywhere from 10 to 20 hours to do depending on complexity. Between the pages I also work on the monthly, which in all honesty, should have been done by now, but its not. The page suffered only a minor delay in time, where as the monthly took a major hit in time. The monthly pics can take up a lot more time due to the detailed shading, as well as being higher resolution then the pages.
van man 26th Aug 2014, 2:04 AM edit delete reply
how many pages is this comic going to have?

Hey I got a friend of mine who is a really good kid but a bit of an idiot at heart who is forming a band and trying to get likes and assistance with the art work, can you by any chance help him out, you don't have to help with the art work for him but at least like his band page on facebook please? He's really trying his best to keep his band from falling apart and needs all the support he can get, and I promised him I would get him more likes.
Amocin 28th Aug 2014, 1:41 AM edit delete reply
I do not have time for extra art work outside of my own, what little I do get to do outside of Druids work is either for friends, family or personal work. If commissions open up, you are free to try and grab a slot for your friend.

As far as liking stuff on FB, I am sorry but that is for personal friends and family only. I would hate to say it, but if Likes are all that is keeping your friends band together, its not going to make it.

Nobody should do anything for the popularity, they should do it because they love it. When things become a number game, it always tends to fail. Stop looking at numbers of views/likes/watchers/faves and you and your friend will be much happier for it. Pour your heart into your work, it shows, and others will notice.

Okay cool, now we're on the same track, I can point out to you Boomer that he's fine. He's told us specifically that he's not looking for likes, he said IT'D BE NICE to get more likes, his band is at a stand still because some girl in it is from England (Which I don't like the sound of that), I'm just glad you didn't give out any names.
