I would like to take this moment to make sure everybody is aware that both Koutack and Kinar have never seen this particular Steed before. The family, including Shai, only ever knew Amo as a DK. This mount was inaccessible to Amo while she was a DK.

This month's pic is between Kinar and Drogan(tauren), because its a combo I havent used by itself, and I figured, why not?

Average Rating: 5 (4 votes) Rate this comic

Dreamfox 11th May 2015, 2:47 AM edit delete reply
It's a good thing Drogan does not know this. That might influence his decision in a big way.

And nicely interwoven with the Death Knight backstory where you were a great hero before becoming a Death Knight.
DaRealCarry 11th May 2015, 3:06 AM edit delete reply
So Koutack and Kinar never knew that Amo was a Paladin (the steed were from so palas, aren't they? i'm not sure anymore)? Wonder what will happen to Snowflake since Amo is not a DK anymore.
Aetheos 11th May 2015, 3:06 AM edit delete reply
Kinar must wear that coat closed on the top half to hide that god awful tabard she never wanted to wear :P Aside from the cold weather of course.
Another nice set of artwork Amocin! ^^

Wonder what will happen to Snowflake now that her master is 'alive' once more.
Denise 11th May 2015, 5:47 AM edit delete reply
I've seen one ingame before and i went big eyed like Kinar when she say Kaitrin's firecat form saying to myself 'I. Want. It' 0_0
But it really fits Amo :) i love it!! Hope she will e fine :)
Silvgan 11th May 2015, 6:47 AM edit delete reply
I love how you can see every emotion that they are feeling~ such a great comic.
Illidan's ophthalmologist 11th May 2015, 7:55 AM edit delete reply
If amo's mount is based off tyreal's charger from wow. why does it have a horn, or is that your twist on it so it is this great warrior of the light mount. and another question. You ever plan or think much later in the comic maybe a pandaren monk showing up or anything, Would love to see a pandaren with your style. Be the cutest thing ever.
Amocin 11th May 2015, 8:57 AM edit delete reply
Amo's Steed is a mix between Tyreal's Charger and an Argent Charger. So there are going to be some things that are different.

I will not be using the Pandaren in the comic, I am sorry.
DaRealCarry 11th May 2015, 2:36 PM edit delete reply
Why exactly you won't use any Pandaren?
I actually like them pretty much :)
Amocin 11th May 2015, 3:01 PM edit delete reply
The comic was written long before Mists of Pandara, so I have little to no knowledge of the Pandaren. The timeline also takes place a bit before that as well. Though I have said I would put in armor and abilities that came with that expansion, all of the lore is not something I am familiar with.
Longtail 11th May 2015, 4:45 PM edit delete reply
I think that's for the best. It's not worth knowing IMNSHO, and I try to ignore ANYTHING to do with MoP in general because it's like "Welcome to the fantastic world of Azeroth, where myth and legend meet! We've run out of ideas for fantasy. Go play a panda in China for a while."
Rankamateur 12th May 2015, 3:02 PM edit delete reply
FYI Longtail, Chen Stormstout (a Pandaren) was a pivotal character in in Warcraft III, long before World of Warcraft was created. He was instrumental in helping Rexxar and Thrall found a home for the Horde in Durotar, before there was ever a city of Orgrimmar...so it wasn't a matter of `running out of ideas', but rather, a revisiting of already existing Azeroth history.
Null 12th May 2015, 8:38 AM edit delete reply
Fun note Panderen has been around before World of Warcraft, according to a friend of mine. However this is a great comic and hope to read more great work of yours.
dragondruid 11th May 2015, 12:31 PM edit delete reply
it's possible that maybe kinar knows why the mount is there i only see Anders and Koutak surprised to see it
Yvell 11th May 2015, 2:26 PM edit delete reply
Yeah, Pandaren won't be used in this comic for a long while. It seems to me like this is still taking place during the events of Wrath of the Lich King. We're a long way out from events going that far down the timeline.
dragondruid 11th May 2015, 2:48 PM edit delete reply
thought this was taking place around either cata or after since drogan wears the tier armor from Dragon Soul
Rasminar 11th May 2015, 3:59 PM edit delete reply
Its obviously during or after cata since the worgen outbreak at Gilneas already happened.
Wolf 11th May 2015, 2:49 PM edit delete reply
So I guess people have been over this before, with the fact that Amo is a Worgen Death Knight, and therefore one of Archmage Arugal's Worgen, and therefore technically shouldn't be able to be a paladin. But seriously, I just think that's dumb.

I understand that you should follow the lore and such, but I think you should leave room for story as well.

As it looks now, it seems unlikely that so many of Arugal's Worgen are either with Mordin or Hotah, but I like to believe that the Scourge were still able to ressurect people into becoming Death Knights after the Lich King's death, even though Worgen are supposted to be unable to be ressurected as Undead.

But why do you have to care? In all honesty, this comic is a fanfiction. Therefore, you should be allowed to leave some lore parts aside for story.

Also, another question: What happened to Snowflake now that Amo is a Paladin?!
Longtail 11th May 2015, 4:42 PM edit delete reply
I agree with you 100% that is insanely stupid. The fact Worgens cannot be paladins was more of a fairness issue in game mechanic for the character creation over following lore logic.

I rather like the little adjustments that Amo the Artist has made...gives me some catharsis on things that have seriously bugged me about WoW.
Aetheos 11th May 2015, 8:44 PM edit delete reply
Not to do something inappropriate in your cornflakes... but literally every race class restriction is based off of the main populations lifestyle. Gilneans are close friends with the night elves and many share in their religion even though you don't see druids stalking the streets. in the entire time you spend there you don't see any shred of evidence that there was a paladin organization yet you see they closely guard a highly important druid artifact and even have several druids around that area of the night elf persuasion. When it comes down to it it is just a different civilization in it's own right. It has nothing to do with fairness but plenty to do with lore. It's not THAT hard to believe paladin are not a common part of a civilization that tried to shun itself from the alliance. Meaning no outsiders they don't trust. And last I checked paladin organizations in themselves are outsider groups.
Amocin 11th May 2015, 8:53 PM edit delete reply
^ I have pretty much touched on this before. Gilnean Worgen are more religiously tied to Druids, where as humans outside of Gilneas likely followed the light. While the game did make Worgen Druids but not Paladins for in game balancing reasons, that doesnt mean that they didnt tie it into the lore.

Amo was never from Gilneas though, and as such, was not bound to these rules. This is where I somewhat "bent" the rules of the game.
Aetheos 12th May 2015, 11:29 AM edit delete reply
I we merely touching upon the Gilnean background. And I know Amo herself isn't a gilly. I follow the comments section quite well :P
Jorlack 11th May 2015, 3:17 PM edit delete reply
As I understand it this comic is inspired by wow but it's Amocins version of that world. So I wouldn't expect it to be cannon to the wow reality.
XxTonyxX 12th May 2015, 4:03 AM edit delete reply
well it doesn't hurt to be faithful to origin material
BloodshedSabre 12th May 2015, 9:29 AM edit delete reply
In that case everything must be exactly the same as the game and therefore would not be interesting as I have the game in front of me. Amo deviating from WoW 'origin material' has lead to an amazing comic being made!
With all due respect, screw the canon fanatics. :)
Rankamateur 12th May 2015, 3:13 PM edit delete reply
Neither is anything harmed by straying from the original material, XxTonyxX. This is a fan fiction, and as such, open to variations and interpretations.
fenris cro 12th May 2015, 8:12 AM edit delete reply
that is a good question what will happen to he DK mount?
i know your not using pandaren but considering the number of people asking for one would you consider possibly having a pandaren in a monthly pic in the future?
illidan is right it'd be cute.
Tazzm 12th May 2015, 9:29 AM edit delete reply
O.o i thought Amo had been a priest before when i saw the golden wings and stuff....paladin didn't even cross my mind. i just assumed the mount was Tyrael's Charger which has no class association to me. i kind of thought of Snowball (this mount) and Snowflake (the DK) mount as the same. DK mounts are classbound and this one is apparently a reward for mighty champions of the light. so i guess Snowflake is there for when she's a DK and Snowball is for when she's a paladin/priest. so now that Amo's all light-and-holy using, Snowflake can just sorta take a nice nap, like Snowball here was doing while she was undead. :D or maybe they're really the same horse, depending on the Amo is functioning as at the time!
Silvermane21a 12th May 2015, 2:00 PM edit delete reply
"Given as a gift to the greatest warriors of light"

ಠ_ಠ Or anybody who recruited a friend, bought an Annual pass, or a copy of Diablo III while it was so broken they were giving them away free. As such at the end of the Lich King era and during most of the Cataclysm era, it was one of the most common mounts you'd see next to the non-promotional ones. Heck the Celestial Steed was rarer because people had to pay $25 bucks for it.

Not a criticism as I know this is Amo's story with a unique canon, I just had to point out the irony
Amocin 12th May 2015, 3:26 PM edit delete reply
Tyraels Charger is a black horse, and has slightly different armor. This horse also doesnt have a celestial mane or tail like Tyrael's Charger. This is a different horse. Not to mention lets not forget that Tyrael likely doesnt have a thousand horses he is giving out. Last I checked he wasnt a horse breeder. Also I didnt want to imply that Amo had ever met Tyrael.

So no, not the same horse as the promotional mount.
Drannkle 12th May 2015, 2:50 PM edit delete reply
Can I give the guess that Amo's old death charger turned into the new one along with herself going from dk to pala?
Amocin 12th May 2015, 3:32 PM edit delete reply
Snowflake and Snowball are two different horses.
Guest 12th May 2015, 8:57 PM edit delete reply
Is it possible this was a Tyreal's Charger? Or something along the lines of a Paladin Charger?
Amocin 12th May 2015, 10:46 PM edit delete reply
This is a Paladin Specific mount that I made. It is a cross between the Argent Charger and Tyreal's Charger.

viverred 14th May 2015, 12:04 AM edit delete reply
maybe it's just me... but get the feeling Amo the Paladin would get a kick out of riding Snowflake, just as Amo the DK would have a blast riding Snowball. i could see her giggling inanely at the reactions of other people as they tried and failed to make sense of it.
Tikaria 14th May 2015, 4:04 PM edit delete reply

Amocin. Love the comic so far. I am not sure if you have any rules on links or not, But this one is simply a link to the WoW forums. Specifically a forum that is calling for the Alpha model worgen to be made an optional choice in the character design. Please support it, It needs all the help it can get...
Kulavak 15th May 2015, 9:57 AM edit delete reply
Hopefully we get to see a softer side of Koutack here. I'd been hoping for a daddy-daughter interaction where he shows he isn't all snarl and bite and does love his kids. Most dads have a soft spot for their girls.
Dreamfox 15th May 2015, 7:20 PM edit delete reply
He needs some time to adjust.
He has seen that they love each other, but in such a short amount of time it is too much to expect him to do.

Besides, what is he ging to say? If he aprroves, Kinar will know he is lying for her sake Anything else will let Kinar think that he does not approve, which is true.

He loves her so much to leave them alone for now, despite his hatred of the horde. I think that speaks volumes.

And his comment about not being able to do nything to Serid... yet, was (I think) the equivalent of a father polishing his shotgun while her boyfriend is waiting to take her on a date.
"Hurt my girl..."
Kulavak 16th May 2015, 12:27 AM edit delete reply
I wasn't inferring that he should approve of disapprove of his daughters relationship with Serid. I think there's way too many complications there to begin to comment on. Koutack also doesn't seem like the sort to broach that kind of discussion until he's had a chance to digest the little scene from earlier, and not to act rashly. If he wanted to react that way, Serids head would already be on a pike. What I was trying to get to - and what my earlier comment was about - is I was hoping to see perhaps a little vignette on the fact that he loves his kids - faction-transcendent proclivities aside. It isn't a side of Koutack we have seen yet, and it is only hinted at in in biography on the Cast page.

em, amocin. will amo keep her way of being after becoming alive again? ... well if she makes it.

what I mean is will she keep being that funy kinda perverted character we all love ( or at least I do) ?
Amocin 16th May 2015, 10:16 AM edit delete reply
There's nothing that says a Paladin cant be a bit perverted. Though there will be slight changes in her, she will remain overall the same person.

Yeah I think it be best to update us on that? on the main page?, not an idea leaving people in the dark.

I mean, I whuold love to be alone in the dark with Amo, but..something about her eyes makes me wonder if..yeah..Im going to stop here :3
Amocin 17th May 2015, 6:04 PM edit delete reply
We will update that sometime this week.. However we alerted people to this two weeks ago, so its not exactly like I didnt say anything, or give warning.
