How could he be feral if we saw him acting all normal in the Emerald Dream? I leave you guys to discuss that if you would like. But it was not an error on my part, Im not backtracking, I have my reasons.

This months donation pic is of Serid and a female Blue Dragon.

Who is that?
Omen 13th Jun 2016, 6:17 AM edit delete reply
I do believe that is Kinar and Denor's child, Jorick.
jlmdragon 13th Jun 2016, 2:07 AM edit delete reply
well we only saw him asleep in the dream....
Pepper 14th Jun 2016, 10:49 AM edit delete reply
Nope, we did see him awake! Check back at:
Amocin 14th Jun 2016, 11:19 AM edit delete reply
He was still in the dream then, so he was still asleep out in the Real/waking World.

Ahh </3 the feels Amocin you are so good at creating some serious feels. This weeks comic has broken my heart a little but what good story doesn't at some point right?

I can't even begin to imagine what might happen if her boy got the cure now after being feral for so long. From what I understand they don't remember any of most of their life as Ferals so to just wake up in the body of a young boy when last you recall you were just an infant... My heart breaks but at the same time I'm clinging to each new page because the story you've woven entices me. <3
Anon 13th Jun 2016, 2:19 AM edit delete reply
Small edit to my last comment, though it hasn't been approved yet. I didn't catch their shadows over him at first and thought he might be a few years older than the baby version we saw of him in the emerald dream. Perhaps because that's the age he was when he was turned into a worgen. Still a sort of intriguing fictional philosophical question though. If they could cure a worgen who had been feral for some years what would be the psychological backlash?
Nasrem 13th Jun 2016, 2:22 AM edit delete reply
Maybe i know why he is feral. he is Kinar's son, eventually he have the same little error that his mother had if she goes feral. But Mordin do nothing to let feel him save, and maybe that this point let him become feral.

It will take much time to convert him back to normal, but for this Kinar have to take him with her if she is able to escape from the DK's Base. Or i'm looking wrong, and that isn't Joric, Kinars son?

On other reason i can't understand the question in the last panel, i'm sure that Kinar ask it, and not Serid.

But is this really the true story? Only Amocin know the right answer of this question.
Sea-Pancake 13th Jun 2016, 2:59 AM edit delete reply
Poor Joric :(
dawndemonica 13th Jun 2016, 3:21 AM edit delete reply
I was right...The feral they have is none other than her own child.
Redmoonwatcher 13th Jun 2016, 3:50 AM edit delete reply

This has to be the first time you have really shocked me and I don't shock easily... why must this comic only update once a week!? I'm gonna be thinking about this most of the week now!
Guest 13th Jun 2016, 4:31 AM edit delete reply
I do belive people here forget the emrald dream part where he tooked there son, so he might done this on purpose and praobly even now wants to use it to bring kinar on his side.

Also i don't think kinars bite whould had an effect on Serid, since i believe it should had shown effect by now and her feral state is kinda different considering her powers she weilds aswell there, instead of jsut well feral like clawing.

I do hope Mordin gets soon what he deserves, because he only acts for his own goal there, not caring for anyone and using them as his tools.

I love the comic and seek to improve it.
I saw how you had problems with the ice in this place so i think i might be good to include some pillars on the ice pillars. By having the pillars it would show the general direction of the ice. If you decide to do this i think the pillars should look like the ICC construction giving the feeling of 'Death Knight'.
I Hope this did not come off as rude or ill-mannered.

Heya Amocin-

Just wondered about the Child eyescolor. On the page its orange while Kinar on the other hand, has light blue eyes like some kind of DK. Aren't ferals supposed to be the same overall? Or did you just have chosen orange eyes to show he is not a DK?

About the part of the agering(is that even a word? I dunno) of the Child I have my own explainations and I want to share them down here as wished :)

First of all it has to be proven that this child is the one we saw in the emerald dream before. Because he probably is, we have to think about what happened to him. He got changed into a worgen- switch to the Scene where Koutak tells Serid about Kinars past etc, it was nighttime there (sure it could be just a time difference between their arrival and when it happened but just think about it now)- as the emerald dream is somewhere where the physical body may not enter at all but the childs soul/mind which wasn't able to go back to his body due certain reasons of the feral instincts of the worgens curse. Mental bodys would not age in the Emerald Dream at this point so that would explain why we saw him as a baby not that long ago.

Pls excuse my bad grammar etc and correct me if i made mistakes
Amocin 13th Jun 2016, 9:05 AM edit delete reply
Kinar's eye color when 'feral' is tied to her shapeshifted form's eye color... Oddly enough in WoW Druid forms and their colors are tied to the hair color of the player... Something I changed after creating Kinar.. So Kinar's eye color simply changes due to her druid form.

It is also because I dont want anybody confusing him with a DK. So glowy eyes in a 'natural' worgen body mean feral. (Even though in Wow, male worgen eyes glow and females dont... for some stupid friggen reason? Unless they changed that.. but still.. Glowy eyes are for ferals.)
Maby 15th Jun 2016, 3:22 AM edit delete reply
It hasn't been changed. If anything, the female's eyes now look duller/flatter than they used to :(

This page is heartbreaking btw, poor Jorick and Kinar
Omen 13th Jun 2016, 6:15 AM edit delete reply
Oh crap, this is... Still remaining hopeful that he isn't too far gone to being an uncured feral worgen. So Denor was turned and killed by Kinar when she first turned, but he never tried to find a way to help their son. The FEELS!!!
Silegna 13th Jun 2016, 11:49 AM edit delete reply
Originally, Female Worgen DID have the Eye Glow. On the Alpha Model. Which got changed because people thought the model wasn't "Feral" enough. The Model that Female Worgen CURRENTLY have was made in a couple of weeks, leading to all sorts of horrid clipping issues, permasnarl, and derpeyes.
GrievousRain 13th Jun 2016, 6:23 AM edit delete reply
Up until now, if im correct, we haven't seen a feral/normal Worgen with orange looking eyes. Kinar's went blue when she went feral, and Mordin's are always blue. Leaves you a little curious
Guest 13th Jun 2016, 3:19 PM edit delete reply
The permasnarl thing was done to the look of the female worgen because they didn't have the time to fix an issue with the jaw that left gaping holes and it disconnected in parts so they instead made the lips bigger to hide that issue. Which it seems to me that it won't ever be fixed at this point even though all the pre cataclysm races got updated.
neonpinkfeline 13th Jun 2016, 6:43 AM edit delete reply
Honestly, if he is wiling to do that to his own child, he deserves to be slain. I am not a nice person. But a parent should never use their own child in any way. Nurture, raise, care for, love... but never use. and this pisses me off to no end seeing how he did this.

I think she's likely about to snap and royally rip her ex-husband's undead head clean off his shoulders. he changed his name, died (technically he's dead. he is a death knight which are Undead. Had to die to become one) and now he is using her child as a weaponized biological agent. yea. he isnt her husband anymore. And certainly less than the fleas that are likely crawling up his back.
Ilari 15th Jun 2016, 2:47 AM edit delete reply
I completely agree. Mordin needs to be ended With Extreme Prejudice after this revelation. I foresee Kinar, understandably, going into rage mode very soon. (...or possibly angry mother mode, which is kind of the same thing, but actually probably scarier...)
neonpinkfeline 17th Jun 2016, 5:05 AM edit delete reply
Well. given we have seen her in full rage mode, I think her reaction will be both much calmer, and far more terrifying at the same time. She will likely rip his head from his shoulders, or at least pull one of his limbs off.

At most she will capture him, and let him just dehydrate until he is as brittle as dry sticks and then break him apart slowly.

Though personally, I think she should just turn him into a fine red paste and use that to leave a lovely message on the wall.

So this is Joric... But he looks much older here. Will it be explained as to why he doesn't look like an infant?
Omen 13th Jun 2016, 10:11 AM edit delete reply
IMO he looks about 6-9yrs old, as far as, why he was a toddler in the emerald dream. Granted he had no druidic training, but being that both Denor and Kinar were/are druids. He would have some kind of genetic ability to access the dreamscape. I believe it is one of two options, it was either his last memory before becoming a feral and therefore his only real tie when in the emerald dream. Or, it is a construct of Denor to keep him sedated in some form so he isn't a raging feral 24/7. And the whole reason the green dragon flight can enter and exit the dreamscape as they desire is because they were directly put in charge of watching over the realm. The drake playing with Joric, wasn't able to reverse the nightmare Kinar built was because he is still an adolescent by dragon aging.
Guest 13th Jun 2016, 7:47 AM edit delete reply
Now how come he has the dew claws when everyone else doesn't?
Amocin 13th Jun 2016, 9:01 AM edit delete reply
All Worgen have these things when they are first made... but, for adventurers it is a problem, so they remove them. Dew claws, at least on the hind legs, can be nothing more than a piece of flesh with a nail sticking out of it, with no bone attached to it.. So it can get caught on things while running around, and get ripped off. The adults opt to remove this feature rather than having them come off naturally.

I know this isnt true for all dogs, but it is true for some. I personally never liked the idea of the dew claw on the Worgen and whenever somebody has asked about them not being present I have said that the adults remove them.

How old is Joric here? Because in Kumar's dream he was a baby and didn't the events of Gilneas happen like... A few years back?
Bobbin 13th Jun 2016, 9:40 AM edit delete reply
Who is the death knight that is standing next to kinar? He actually looks sad, does he know her?
Rankamateur 13th Jun 2016, 3:39 PM edit delete reply
That is Ghath, Kinar's elder brother. Since it is her son she is seeing in feral form...and therefor, his nephew...it's understandable that he is saddened that she has to see the boy like this.
Firnen 14th Jun 2016, 12:26 PM edit delete reply
An interesting idea but I believe Kinar's brother is Shai and not gath, however they do look similar. Although that would explain the sympathy on his face. But that could just be because he knows that this is her child and how painful it must be for her to see him like this. A mothers instincts and feelings about her children can be quite powerful - and therefore painful.
Firnen 14th Jun 2016, 1:51 PM edit delete reply
Ah I just read the cast and the part on Gath... That's embarrassing
Wulfspyder 13th Jun 2016, 9:46 AM edit delete reply
Well, crap.
Fo 13th Jun 2016, 9:59 AM edit delete reply
Wait a minute, how many years has it been since Kinar transformed? Their son looks about like a 7 year old maybe?
Firnen 13th Jun 2016, 11:01 AM edit delete reply
Poor Joric. I would understand keeping someone feral for a while, maybe even a year. But that is way too long. I'm surprised Mordin/Denor would keep his own son like that for years on end. That must have really hurt Kinar... Anyway great plot twist, can't wait to see the next page. Is the Death Knight next to Kinar Gath? It looks like him and the possible sympathy on his face suggests he knows her and her connection to Joric -assuming the kid is Joric that is.
crazieanimefan1 13th Jun 2016, 11:19 AM edit delete reply
Holy hells...

Also, if she recognizes him, would it be more of a "What have you done?!" or does she even know who the poor boy is?
Amocin 13th Jun 2016, 12:16 PM edit delete reply
She only slightly recognizes him, but she is also smart enough to put all the information together. Drogan told her that he was alive and that Mordin had him, and he seems about the right age, at about six years old.
ValturNaa 13th Jun 2016, 11:43 AM edit delete reply
I think the real question we have to ask ourselves is whether Mordin was ever cured himself? And I think the answer is no. After all, he died right? Whereas Jorick seems to have survived and fled. Mordin's "ascension" to death knight gave him back his control, and in a cold fury he began to plot his revenge. After a while he would have learned of his son's survival and chosen to keep him feral so that he could infect others with the curse. After all, didn't they say that even Kinar didn't have much chance of infecting people, despite her ability to become feral again? She was cured. Presumably that makes it hard to pass on the curse. And Mordin is dead, so...

As for how we saw an infant in the emerald dream, I thought it was self-explanatory that Kinar wouldn't have recognized her son if he had been older. The emerald dream reflects the wishes of its viewers, regardless of the reality, so it seems likely that Kinar made him that age herself, because that's what she expected to see. And if not that, then Mordin made him that age when he created that dream for her. At least, that's how I read it.
Dreamfox 13th Jun 2016, 2:21 PM edit delete reply
Also, it was the age Jorick was probably happy for the last time. There is also the green dragon to consider. He might have had something to do that Jorick was not feral in the emerald dream.

I'll be going back to being shocked at this revelation now.

If memory serves me right the Emerald Dream is suppose to have a calming effect on the Worgen. If so that would explain why he was so calm in the dream, however, this worgen is a few years old already and not an infant like in the dream. This is going to be weird once he's gone through the ritual.
Viverred 14th Jun 2016, 6:57 AM edit delete reply
My scientific wild ass guess is that Jorick has always been feral. In the emerald dream he is normal because that is his dream self. Alternately, it was kinar's dream and that's how she pictured him.
Aburri 14th Jun 2016, 8:33 AM edit delete reply

Oh I have been watch this comic for so long and I love how its coming along so beautifully. Right now I am both sad yet excited to see whats going to happens next. If that really is their son I wonder what Konar will do. I just hope she doesn't flip out and go on a rampage or anything. And I am even more worried about Sid as well. She truly does love him she has proven that. I just hope that is she really goes threw with this he doesn't go feral or something. Cant wait till next week to see what happens. Oh the wait and tension is just almost to much.
Firnen 14th Jun 2016, 1:57 PM edit delete reply
One more thing. Koutack had four kids Kinar, Gath, Shaidan and who..?
Will this be revealed later in the comic because I would really like to see that or have I missed something?
Amocin 14th Jun 2016, 2:48 PM edit delete reply
Koutack had a total of 6 children, Ghath was one of the 'four' who died. The other three are unnamed, and likely wont be named, cause they are dead and will not be appearing in the comic.
Aetheos 15th Jun 2016, 5:03 PM edit delete reply
Obviously the emerald dream likely brings his calmness back. Giving him what he wants so to speak... And the last his rational mind recalled he was still an infant and what does an infant want more than anything... His parents so he dreams of being normal and at home with his parents. It was probably too late to cure him as only the night elves had that knowledge Alon with krennans alchemic solution. Doubt the elves would be willing to come cure Mordins child after all...
Aetheos 15th Jun 2016, 5:05 PM edit delete reply
To be honest either he has a long road of recovery ahead of him.. Or joricks not gonna make it in my opinion.
