If he is not dead (I see him impaled with his throat cut) he is in really, really, REALLY bad shape ...
Kitten 15th Aug 2016, 4:02 AM edit delete reply
Oh my gosh, Nathair! I thought the blood splattered from his wing webbing. I didn't know he had his neck slit. Oh no. I thought he might be ok but now... Is there a shred of Denor left in you, Mordin?

On a related note, I absolutely love his bear tank design!
Mikotaj Fenris 15th Aug 2016, 11:06 AM edit delete reply
I personally think Denor is still there with that hug a few pages back. Remember that? Despite all he's done I have a theory he's being controlled which I have mentioned pages before. All of you guys say that you want him dead but you over looked one detail. Who raised Mordin in the first place? How is he back? Who does HE serve? The lich King? A lich? Who?
Thwaitesy 15th Aug 2016, 6:06 PM edit delete reply
That's a good point. It could be he has no control over his actions much like in so many sci-fi or fantasy things. Maybe he can see and here all that happens, but he can't stop any off it.
Panther 15th Aug 2016, 11:22 PM edit delete reply
I doubt it and i'm asking to myself if there is still some of Denor in Mordin

I think it was more a trick to get Kinar "willingly" in his team , as he says in the last panel

Poor Kinar...but the looks on her face in both the panels jsut gave me like chills and seeing him go bear is ultimate squeee mode but fear out because with him being a death knight and a druid WHAT POWERS AND ABILITIES CAN HE DO!!!! O3O
And i love the way he turned out in bear!

I think anyone seeing that would go "oh crap" right now.
Galis 15th Aug 2016, 6:14 AM edit delete reply
I know it's likely Kinar's not been thinking straight because her son is involved, but charging right into the teeth of a bunch of experienced enemy is not much of a plan and is exactly the sort of thing liable to get yourself and those allies inexperienced enough to try to follow killed in a battle.

Naithir seemed really young (a bit hard to tell, just judging based on his size mostly), it's unfortunate he was her "backup plan".

Though that's one aspect of WoW lore I've never quite gotten - dragons are perfectly sapient and have fairly human-centric emotions and mentalities (probably so players can identify with them), but their whelps are often common enemies just hanging around (of all flights) unprotected, and they're shown freely using young drakes in war. I wonder how much of that is "game" (need dragons to fight for coolness) vs "lore" (is there a reason for that?)
Amocin 15th Aug 2016, 9:38 PM edit delete reply
Sorry, I had meant to answer this earlier but didnt have the time.

This idea was a collaboration of the two, the dragon and Kinar. Dont forget that it has been said that there are three people casting the spell keeping him in his prison, Nathair is one of those three. While he may be young, he does have jobs and responsibilities that we wouldnt trust our own teenagers with.

Dragons mature a lot faster than we do, but once they reach maturity their aging slows rapidly.

While I do think the whelps being killable mobs was something that Blizzard added for 'cool factor', I would like to believe that whelps are smart enough to leave the nest and explore the world.. Nathair did not join most of his nest mates, and instead joined his cousin Drogan in his endeavors.

I think this also helps keep dragon populations in check... cause damn.. there are so many hatchlings. The world would become overrun with them if there wasnt some factor keeping their numbers down.
ArticAkita 15th Aug 2016, 6:31 AM edit delete reply

So Kinar is now alone in the emerald dream with this worgen who has shown no scruples about taking what he wants regardless of affiliation. Nathair is dead, Ghath and Serid are trapped deep in the death knight citadel, and Kinars brother is trapped alone atop a mountain with other death-knights. Pretty much everyone who would come to her rescue is incapacitated or cut-off. Unless Drogan or Amocin manages a dues ex machina kind of entrance, this won't end well.

How come he has 2 classes? That's kinda impossible since he lost his touch with nature and the emerald dream when he got transformed into a druid. In the novel Wolfheart it is explained that druid have a stong connection with the animals they transform into.Living things. That's the opposite of what a dk is doing, a.k.a. controlling undead.
Amocin 15th Aug 2016, 5:46 PM edit delete reply
1) I already explained that Mordin has abilities beyond a normal DK, because he has 'boss status'. They can have more abilities than normal players.

2) Reasons... To fully answer this would be a spoiler.
Mikotaj Fenris 15th Aug 2016, 7:00 PM edit delete reply
Not only that, but for story purposes as well. The antagonist is supposed to be formidable and a threat, which can't be easily defeated.

So . . . he killed a member of the green dragonflight, won't that mean the rest of them will come down on him?
Amocin 16th Aug 2016, 9:31 AM edit delete reply
The dragonflights dont come down with the fury on every single person who has ever killed one of their kind.. If that were true there wouldnt be any orcs left, seeing as there are many red dragons who have no love for the orcs, regardless of alignment, after many of their kind were enslaved and killed by a group of them.
Mikotaj Fenris 16th Aug 2016, 12:49 AM edit delete reply
I'm starting to think Kinar may not want to fight anymore now that she's realized she's screwed. Not exactly the most resistant character, as shown in various Scenes before she has sex. For example with Victor.

On the next page she'll either turn into a Druid berserker, manipulated in some way, killed, or she'll surrender.
Mikotaj Fenris 16th Aug 2016, 12:56 AM edit delete reply
What if she asks for Mercy? Will Denor come rescue her I wonder. Burst out for those few moments before Mordin takes back over. Just story speculation. Amocin, this comic makes me think very hard. That's a good thing. I mean right now there's as much tension as there was in a Mexican Standoff. Plus something just happened which this story needed, a tragic death to stit the emotions of the audience, being us the viewers. Now we wonder each week what'll happen to this loose yet interesting Protagonist.

Keep up the good Work Amocin. I really like this comic.

Wulfspyder 20th Aug 2016, 3:16 PM edit delete reply

Rubinelle 16th Aug 2016, 10:36 AM edit delete reply
I think most of you raging over Nathair's death are forgetting something. They're fighting in the Emerald Dream, and to be frank, both Kinar and Nathair are powerful enough to influence and change aspects of it. They just yanked Mordin along for the ride. Who knows what's about to happen, if you think about it that way? Nathair of all people has home-court advantage here, and Kinar...Well...She's Kinar.
Wulfspyder 20th Aug 2016, 3:13 PM edit delete reply
I do wonder if the resurrection style spells exist here. As a druid, Kinar could still possibly throw such a spell on Nathair. Unless there's a grace period and Mordin could being going bear form to hold her until it's too late for the spell to work.
Mikotaj Fenris 22nd Aug 2016, 12:58 AM edit delete reply
In warcraft they do, in this comic I'm not so sure. If she can, hopefully she'll use it on both Naithar and Denor
Dargon 16th Aug 2016, 10:38 AM edit delete reply
Wow! You Really killed off a "Some what" Main character..... (and a Dragon at That!) I'm a bit sad.....

I absolutely Love the Third panel with that "close-up" look of distraught on Kinar's face! ♡
Equally good is the Bear transformation Mordin is under going!

Now if I may, (I promise I'm not try to sound like an Ass or start nothing here...) I think the Throat slash looks Great, however I think it could be greatly improved by adding a trickle of blood running down the length of the jaw line from underneath the ending in a somewhat long droplet hanging from the chin. In addition to a little more detail in the face....perhaps a little more shadow play? But it's just a suggestion based on a personal observation. I mean no harm and Absolutely Love your work!♡.♡
BloodshedSabre 16th Aug 2016, 10:59 AM edit delete reply
Possible errors? Not sure but it looks like it to me!

The way that Nathair has had his throat slit and the position of the sword in panel 1 don't seem to match with the blood splatter on Kinar as the location is the oposite of the direction of the sword, ergo, the blood should have missed. Unless he flipped the sword and brought it back to swing which makes no sense because he dropped it and turned into a bear. ._.
The fact that Nathair has had his throat slit would probably mean a stupidly large amount of blood would have sprayed all over the place because of the depth of the cut and the fact that jugulars tend to do that. I see no blood. (Would probably take ages to draw though and be a pain in the ass.)

Not only that but the inside of Nathair's mouth is green when the angle wouldn't show the flesh on the other side of the inside of his mouth, not only that but even if that were the case it should be darker and likely not green since last I checked reptiles don't grow scales on the inside of the mouth. X)
Another thing is I don't understand why it is that his eyes are completely white. They shouldn't have 'glazed' over so soon and just don't look real.
Scales also seem way too light. Although, magic.

Yay, have some probably wrong and at best hard to understand critiques!

Amocin 16th Aug 2016, 11:49 AM edit delete reply
There actually was more blood splatter, but for some reason it was not saved to the final version. I will fix it.. I would assume too, that more of the blood is on the ground, where the 'camera' is not focused.

Mordin pulled the sword back to 'starting position' after the slice.. So I believe it is in the proper position currently given that fact.

Nathair's eyes and coloration are an artistic choice.. His eyes are white in a way that I signify death, kinda like x.x faces. His scales are dimmer, not due to loss of blood, but again, as a way to show that he is not the bright living creature he once was. The grandent that was on his body is also gone, where the tips of his horns and wings were brighter than the parts closer to the body, now everything is flat and uniform. The inside of his mouth was my goof though, and I will fix that.

If there is anything I misunderstood or didnt touch on, please let me know.

Anon 17th Aug 2016, 10:11 AM edit delete reply
Before he was a death knight, he was a druid. For the comic's purpose, he retains his druid abilities along with being capable of using death knight spells. On druid ability all druids have is shapeshift. Bear is one of the forms.
Guesticus 18th Aug 2016, 3:47 PM edit delete reply
Okay, so he's supposed to look more bearish than wolfish in the last panel
Amocin 18th Aug 2016, 8:28 PM edit delete reply
The Worgen bear form does have some wolf features, such as the teeth and the ears, which I am guessing from this angle makes him look more wolfy than bear.
Doggolover 17th Aug 2016, 12:24 AM edit delete reply
NNNooooo... not the dragon!! I ... wait why are his eyes white? he wouldn't die immediately from a cut like thar... Is that a fake? It would make sense a dragon wouldn't be taken out that easy especially with a home feild advantage where it's power is strengthened...
Mikotaj Fenris 17th Aug 2016, 6:12 PM edit delete reply
Mordin did mention earlier that "You can't take the nightmare alone" To Naithar. Plus, He's only just a whelp.
Mikotaj Fenris 17th Aug 2016, 7:57 AM edit delete reply
Wait a second, this all happened in the Emerald Dream and nightmare, so did this actually happen? Then again why a few pages back did Kinar and Mordin disappear from sight? Anyone else find that strange?
Aetheos 19th Aug 2016, 11:28 PM edit delete reply
You can physically enter the emerald dream via a portal. And you can still die within it or be entrapped within. I think there's one or two quests that expand on that subject with a green dragon.

This is just a quick theory, I mean Kinar talked to Drogan privately many pages ago when the emerald dream was corrupted....At the time i assumed that it was what happened in the dream, but it was cut out. We later see them outside with Drogan saying "Its a lot to take in." I really feel the secret talk with each other holds more weight then given credit, after all what if this is all part of a plan? A lot to take in might be Drogan asking Kinar to kill Mordin.
