Please tell me he's disgusted by the elves actions and NOT by the little darling.
Trantor 18th May 2020, 1:51 AM edit delete reply
I think he is booth. As an old school Worgen he still have some prejudices about this.
CM 18th May 2020, 2:20 AM edit delete reply
Given the context of the comment and the fact that the story is winding down, the balance of probability is pretty strongly in the "That's my granddaughter they abandoned" camp.
Kajani 18th May 2020, 1:34 AM edit delete reply
The little girl is so adorable <3

I really love this comic. Best wishes =)

Ugh, Koutack's bigotry is so annoying. The little baby is so adorable! I hope we get to learn her name soon.
Guest 18th May 2020, 6:33 AM edit delete reply
He'll get used to her.
Aetheos 18th May 2020, 7:18 AM edit delete reply
Pretty sure he wasn't referring to the child. More so the parents leaving a child behind.
Also his attitude is understandable considering the worgen invaded his home, killed people or turned them into feral worgen, THEN the horde (not just the forsaken) took advantage of that and destroyed his home when his people were most vulnerable, his people didn't even have time to mourn their lost families and friends, which for Koutack was his son, and grandson. And Serid even admitted he was a part of the attack.

It's hard to be polite to someone after they crash your car, probably even harder towards someone that helped to slaughter your people and burn your home down once.
Guest 18th May 2020, 2:25 AM edit delete reply
It does make sense, there is a war going on and wars leave all manner of orphans. And lore wise hybrids are frowned upon across large swaths of society so this is quite probable
Guest 18th May 2020, 2:28 AM edit delete reply
Seeing Serids dad makes me think Serid has to deal with African dad problems. Like every time he’s about to get in trouble as a kid

Serids dad: AH AH WHO BROKE THIS VASE!?

Serid: *runs to hide*
Rembrant 18th May 2020, 2:29 AM edit delete reply
Okay, I definitely like Serid's dad. That is pretty sad, though, that Serid's infertile. And yeah, Koutack's prejudices are annoying, but to be fair, even Serid admits that some tauren, including himself and his dad, have their own prejudices too. Hopefully having a half tauren adopted granddaughter (who's all sorts of adorable) gets Koutack to start lightening up a bit more.

I feel like...Knowing what we know He still might be disgusted in the baby it's self but more so in the actions of it's birth parents
Guest 18th May 2020, 2:43 AM edit delete reply
Did yiu mean for the baby's eyes to have white on the other page and none here?

oopsies, I will fix that, thank you.

I do believe his "disgusting" comment was in regards to how the child was abandoned, not the child herself.
MythicFox 18th May 2020, 5:36 AM edit delete reply
Hah, love the joke in that first panel.
Guest 18th May 2020, 6:43 AM edit delete reply
You'll get used to her, Koutack old man. Just take some time. After all, all of you especially Kinar, Serid, & Joric will give her a happy life.

Keep up the good work! Good day.

Liking the outline around Serid's offscreen text. I imagine that kid is going to be a handful.

Been reading this since... forever. I find Mondays can't really come soon enough, and I spend hours rereading every so often.
Aaaaany-howl... WHY do I get the feeling kiddo is the result of Serid's buddy and the night-elf's little romp in the snow back in 8/13's "Elsewhere 01/02"??
Isolfr 18th May 2020, 1:13 PM edit delete reply
I was just thinking the same thing lol
Diana Roufs 18th May 2020, 10:18 AM edit delete reply
I absolutely love that you do the characters main color scheme when they are talking out of picture. It makes things a lot easier to follow. I've been loving this comic since the first day <3
TeaBear 18th May 2020, 11:43 AM edit delete reply
I didn't really think this was possible, though I suppose I didn't really think about it either.

Though I guess I've now got a neat bit of RP background for my White Tauren Hunter.
Guest 18th May 2020, 1:00 PM edit delete reply
I hope the baby isn't put off by the fact that she is being held by a dead worgen with no body heat.
Navathien 18th May 2020, 1:12 PM edit delete reply
It just goes to show you how differently people interpret things. Half of us believe that Koutak is referring to the actions of the parents abandoning their own baby while the rest believe he is calling the baby and the fact that she is a hybrid disgusting...
Great work as always Amo!
TeaBear 18th May 2020, 5:15 PM edit delete reply
Technically the abandonment doesn't even have to be true...
Assuming the parents love each other like Serid and Kinar, or like the Druid partners Kaitrin and Ashiana (canonically a couple, both Druids, and perfectly capable of having children), they could simply have turned their hybrid baby over to the Circle so as not to subject their child to the scorn undoubtedly heaped on the child while being raised by either of their native races.
And since the child would likely then be raised and educated as a Druid themselves... They still get to see the baby, or keep track of her at least.

Certainly being raised in the Circle would be better than what they might experience otherwise.
Navathien 25th May 2020, 11:41 PM edit delete reply
I was referring to the fact that he said the word "disgusting" and guessing at the different ways all of us readers were thinking he meant it. It was implied, that's all.
Lila - Tauren Druid 18th May 2020, 1:40 PM edit delete reply
First time posting but long time reader.

I doubt he would come all that way to see the baby just to demean or cause strife. More like he’s disgusted by abandonment of helpless infants just because of racial pride or purity. He may feel animosity toward Taurens but he is at least civil with Serid.

The artwork first drew me to your comic and being that I played a Druid for many years, I gave your comic a shot. I really appreciate the time, effort and hard work into this work. I have greatly enjoyed it.
Angelica Wolfen 18th May 2020, 3:08 PM edit delete reply
what an asshat XD. come on grampa, be happy your daughter is a loving woman and takes after those that need a home.
Redmoonwatcher 18th May 2020, 6:02 PM edit delete reply
I'd almost think this was Kaitrin and Ashiana's child but they're both a) good people from what we've seen of them being minor characters and b) Ashiana has purple hair
Beasttusk 18th May 2020, 9:30 PM edit delete reply
I remember one of the tauren and an elf having sex in the comic. maybe this is their child?
Pyrista 19th May 2020, 12:46 AM edit delete reply
I got to wondering the same thing if the baby was from Kaitrin and Ashiana.
Amocin 19th May 2020, 1:01 AM edit delete reply
Amocin
She is not. I think Kaitrin and Ashiana are the type to lovingly accept any kid that came out of their paring. Kaitrin himself is a very caring person, and doesnt give too much credence to faction wars.
TeaBear 19th May 2020, 10:40 AM edit delete reply
Amo; I think people find the idea of Kaitrin and Ashiana having a child together to be somehow comforting.

Like there's hope for the World, somehow.

Of course, I feel the same thing for Serid and Kinar and their little adoptee.

My daughter is currently foster Mom to five siblings... so I feel this right in the Feels.
Serigala 19th May 2020, 7:23 AM edit delete reply
Wait, is this a callback to page 112/113?
Ashenis 19th May 2020, 8:51 PM edit delete reply
I doubt it. That was a Taruen with a Kaldorei (Night Elf). This little cutie's eyes are more along the lines of Sin'Dorei (Blood Elf)
TeaBear 20th May 2020, 11:41 AM edit delete reply
It's also possible it indicates she's a potential powerful Druid... Malfurion's eyes are green, after all, aren't they?

Edit: Originally he had golden eyes. They've gone green over time as his power increases.
Kai 20th May 2020, 12:17 PM edit delete reply
The eyes don't start out that color for druids. They gain them over time. Blood elves however are born with green eyes as its caused my the fel taint passed to the baby.
Ashenis 22nd May 2020, 1:03 PM edit delete reply
Another possibility I thought of is that green eyes are universal across all elves if they were demon hunters.
However, I'm assuming this is shortly after Wrath, Demon Hunters aren't known about yet, their eyes are flaming, they got them through ritual.
Robby Angel 19th May 2020, 9:09 AM edit delete reply
I bet the worgen's think it's so cuute; the eyes look like tennis balls xD
TeaBear 19th May 2020, 10:47 AM edit delete reply
I just realized that Serid never had his horn repaired :/
Aetheos 22nd May 2020, 2:12 PM edit delete reply
The horn serves no purpose to him. I'm pretty sure that had to have hurt, but like any decent being, he was placing Kinar's well being over his own. Worst case scenario he gets a little disoriented from time to time because his head is uneven. Leaving Kinar's side and going back for it would have been selfish of him, and from what i've seen Serid is anything but selfish.
Also scars build character for a warrior, now he's got a story to tell.
TeaBear 25th May 2020, 11:04 AM edit delete reply
Well, this *is* a full year later... there's been time, and one assumes that they've been places besides... Wherever they are just now.

For example, wherever they are at, they need supplies.

And as I said once before, when it happened, Canonically Tauren can get their horns repaired and/or restyled... presumably magic of some kind is involved.
Muddy 20th May 2020, 11:40 AM edit delete reply
Poor Serid. I’m in the same boat.

It’s not an easy fact to face, but Serid has some loving & lovely support.
Siamese 20th May 2020, 11:52 AM edit delete reply
I began to notice that AMO was in a hurry to finish the story. The background has been greatly simplified in recent months. The modern sofa where Kinar sleeps is not suitable for the World of Warcraft.

Im really just not that great at interior design... never have been.. its not rushed so much as .. i had difficulty with it and I am currently working on making it better. Outside stuff, Im okay with that... I just need to work on inside houses and castles and stuff..

Deadlines are rough man. I'm sure Amo's doing her best considering.
Also there are similar couches to it in world of warcraft. I would assume blood elves would carry furniture similar to that.

So I just came to the realisation that I never twigged that amo is female *goes back to hibernating*

I know no one knows me because I do not write usually but I hope your well with all what is happening. I have starting reading this comic like a third in and fell in love with the characters and how well you write the story along with the fine art you put into it. Watched how you taught yourself all along the way. Makes me wish I did not give up on my drawing when I was younger. You have touched my heart with your story and I can't wait to see more. Best Wishes to you and your family :)
