Anyhow, just a reminder that this months donation pic is Red Dragon of page 52 and Amo this month.

Edit: for some reason this updated an hour early... O.o

Pity there isn't much of a human race left for Mordins plan after the Lich King pretty much wiped 2/3rds of humanity, and then a good chunk of the survivors got killed either directly by or as a consequence of Death Wings insane rampage.

Oh boy, that "One of you can" line makes me think that Kinar's the one who's gonna have to fight him. That is, if she'll even have the willpower to do so if/when she finds out the truth.

do you think we could see worgans turn into there human form?

Maybe at some point in time I will.

Just curious from someone who is not into WoW but love this comic and have been following it and it's artist for quite a long time

What is with the glowing eyes like why is the deathstalker's eyes always glowing where it seems to be a problem if kinar's eyes glow?
Blaidd 16th Nov 2012, 4:12 AM edit delete reply
the worgen are a race of humans who are afflicted by the worgen curse (a whole lore story in itself). when a human is first infected by a feral worgen they eventually will transform into a feral worgen (glowing eyes, extremely powerful and dangerous). in the WoW exp pack cataclysm, you learn that the royal apothecary developed a "cure" for the curse. while they still remain the werewolf-esk worgen, they regain control of their minds... while ingame there is no ability like kinar has to revert back to feral worgen, its still an interesting twist Amo put into the story
Blaidd 16th Nov 2012, 4:15 AM edit delete reply
ps... death knights no matter the race always have the blue haze in their eyes

Just a little FYI: The plural of worgen is also worgen, not worgenS (third panel).
Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 9:17 AM edit delete reply
I will get right on fixing that, thanks.
Raska 19th Nov 2012, 8:27 AM edit delete reply
I love plurals like that. They confuse people so delightfully
Sephiroth8745 16th Nov 2012, 4:41 AM edit delete reply
somehow i doubt this isn't gonna be a happy ending. and why is the worgen leader named after a mass effect character?
Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 9:17 AM edit delete reply
I have heard that name long before Mass Effect.
jlmdragon 16th Nov 2012, 5:10 AM edit delete reply
an now it all falls into place, the worgan are all alive and closer to their feral side then the others, as such they think a little too highly of their power which they believe makes them superior to all other races when in fact they are horrible out numbered, but they can turn human's quickly and proberly breed too, a fate that may have befallen kinar. as for there being one that could stop them, well its strongly hinted that its going to be kinar what with her being able to use that feral power that is still inside her, still there is a danger that the power might over come her and in the case may make her more sympathetic the cause of these worgan, there might be the classic scene where kinar has to chose between her husband and her lover.
Nielspeterdejong 16th Nov 2012, 5:19 AM edit delete reply
Loving the panels so far, and again the expressions are so lively :)

Though why did you make the Worgen dude the racist one? It is starting to sound like the Tauren are portraited as the poor kind and misunderstood natives and the Worgen the bigoted settlers story ^^; Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it is like that because we have not seen much of the story and the interaction yet :) But it's the Tauren and the Horde that have invaded the Worgen's homeland, and in the quests have treated the Worgen as animals and have been racist to them, some even wearing their skin as trophy's apparently O.O I love Kinar and Serid :) But I'm just saying that I hope we see some evil and bigoted Tauren too, instead of them being all kind and the Worgen being the "white bigots" (which on it's own is a old and outdated cliche, all races are equally racist, those of darker skintone sometimes even more nowadays, with the cliche being that "they can't be racist" and then get away with it >.>)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you how you should write your story, because so far it is really well written and makes me want to see more :) Just hoping that we won't see the Worgen portraited as the bigot ones when it comes to those two races, especially since their suffering at the Horde's hands ^^;
Kiz 16th Nov 2012, 6:25 AM edit delete reply
WoW is full of different races and all races have their conflicts. Members of the same races have conflicts with each other. Groups containing mixed races have their own agendas too.

Just because Amocin decided a small group of Worgen have a racist agenda, doesn't mean she believes all Worgen are racist, nor has that been reflected in the comic. And just because the comic contains Tauren who don't foster extremist views in terms of racial or factional belief (We don't know much about Drogan yet), doesn't mean Amocin believes all Tauren are peaceful and good.

All in all, I think it's overly sensitive to insist on perfectly balanced good and evil when the world doesn't work that way. And don't assume all portrayals are immediately racist whether the characters in question are extremist or relatively neutral.
Viverred 16th Nov 2012, 6:36 AM edit delete reply
Huzzah! Well said.
Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 10:23 AM edit delete reply
Pretty much what Kiz said. You got your extremists in every group and race in the world.

Honestly I think it would be more cliche to show Horde members as evil or dark because they are often painted that way, where as the Alliance in most stories is often painted as good.. at least fan made ones that I have come across. You have your goods and your bads in every race.

However there will be other non-worgen bad people, but the worgen are the main bad people because its an angle I wanted to go with.
Nielsdejong 16th Nov 2012, 6:41 AM edit delete reply
I know that :) Heck, I agree with all the pointers you've said here. You always got bad groups of people regardless of race, like the grimtotem or the stonemasons. I just really love the comic, and whenever subjects like interracial couples are brought up I often see such cliche's sadly turn up. But your right that I shouldn't be so worried that that might be the case here. And just see how the comic will progress first :)
Viverred 16th Nov 2012, 6:23 AM edit delete reply
Most of my characters in WoW are Worgen. I am not a lorist, but if i remember right once they have been given control back their bite is no longer infectious. However, i don't remember that issue being directly addressed in any of the lore i know. Was Kinar's husband turned DK before he had control? Or is this a Lore gap your exploiting for the sake of a good story. I'm fine with it either way, just curious.
Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 10:20 AM edit delete reply
Though it will be stated later in comic, He was never given the cure.
Nielspeterdejong 16th Nov 2012, 10:50 AM edit delete reply
While I know that it will all be explained later on, I did have another question about Mordin.

You see, I know that lorewise it was a Night elven Worgen named Alpha (set free by Arugal) who spread the curse as part of a deal with Sylvanas (who wanted to invade Gilneas to get the scythe at first, and later because Garrosh said so).

Would that mean he used to be part of the Wolf cult?

And did he just initially spread the curse to Kinar because he's evil, or was there more to it (like he spread the curse to her so that the Forsaken plague wouldn't kill her/turn her undead or something?)
Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 11:01 AM edit delete reply
A lot of these things are spoilers that you can wait on. But I want you to ask yourself one thing... Why do you think he is the one who gave the curse to her, and not the other way around?
Nielspeterdejong 16th Nov 2012, 11:39 AM edit delete reply
That.. actually does make a lot more sence!

Alright, no more spoilers then :) I will look forward to seeing how Mordin will turn out. Wether he is this pure evilish dude with a superiority complex, or if there is more to his character and that in his mind he thinks he's doing the right thing for his people or something(he did still seem to care about Kinar)
RobertoJP 27th Nov 2012, 2:53 PM edit delete reply
Actually, that is what I believed happen originally according to the story so far. I mean didn’t Kinar’s father say that she had killed her family when she first turned in the campfire scene? (When the old man met her Tauren boyfriend, not that he knows that they were “engaged” that way). He said that she later remembered what she had done and that is why she was “suicidal” when she attacked him in Moonglade. I think that his dead body was raised and a DK when the forsaken invaded and then he broke away on his own (probably taking some of the others that were made with him).
Viverred 16th Nov 2012, 10:53 PM edit delete reply
That would explain it then, Thanx. I wouldn't want to be the person who has to force feed it to him now. if that'll even work now.
jlmdragon 16th Nov 2012, 8:06 AM edit delete reply
I’m not completely sure that mordin (kinar's husband) is a death night, he might still be alive and more feral minded, as for the so called raciest views that is a very complicated, may peoples of alliance and horde faction have great hatred for the other side due to various war atrocities that have happened, and there are other factions too, some good like the cenarian circle, some evil like the burning blade, and some that seek to make profit from the war like the independent goblin cartels, in short any given member of any given race could have any number of different outlooks on life, some seek the path of vengeance, other seek to use their power to heal that land, some may even seek to find a way to end the conflict and bring peace to the world, more likely however this will only happen when the world is next threatened by another great evil such as what happened in the third great war.

Amocin 16th Nov 2012, 7:27 PM edit delete reply
As of page 38, they pretty much assumed he was dead, including Kinar. Kinar is unaware that he is 'alive'.
Guest 16th Nov 2012, 10:48 PM edit delete reply
So Kinar thinks her husband is dead, we think the little one is as well (unless you add another shocking twist), so she's fallen for Serid, and has a relationship with him. ._. Wonder what Mordin is gonna think when he learns about the two lovers.
Sephiroth8745 17th Nov 2012, 12:56 PM edit delete reply
maybe mordin will get upset and try to kill serid and kinar.
barajas13 18th Nov 2012, 12:10 AM edit delete reply
Well, odds are it was probably actually the husband that killed the child and Kinar will figure out and never be able to forgive him for letting her think it was her and more importantly for killing the child. Maybe, im just spitballing xD

Very good... but I don't understand the last panel (I'm not english after all :p)

What is he saying at Kinar?
jlmdragon 16th Nov 2012, 12:25 PM edit delete reply
what Koutack (kinar's father) means that if people start asking uncomfortable questions about how she was able to take down a frost wyrm alone he will create a cover story to explain it without revealing that kinar had used the hidden that is inside her, the power of her feral side which she still does her best to keep hidden from others. however I suspect that that Drogan knows of it too.

This story is written out start to finish, with minor things that can be added or removed should it be needed or if I decide I want to go with one thing over the other. Such

...and the plot thickens. Interesting, this is the first time I've read of the curse being used that way. One week... -_____-
Sephiroth959595 18th Nov 2012, 4:32 PM edit delete reply
This is an adult comic. But it doesn't mean there has to be an adult scene every 5 pages, or even every 50 pages. Amocin will get to it when Amocin damn well feels like it, it's Amocin's story, not yours. Also, excellent twist on the story, Kinar's husband as the enemy leader. Also her husband wanting to slaughter everyone else and turn all of the humans into worgen. Wonder how this turn of events will turn out. But I have one question does he only want to turn the human's into worgen? Or night elves as well?
Amocin 18th Nov 2012, 5:04 PM edit delete reply
The night elves would likely be next on the list but who knows how well that would go. Wouldn't Elune try to protect them from the curse? Or more so, as they are aware of its existence, wouldn't they have a way to protect themselves from it? These are questions I have asked myself, and I am sure Mordin would be wondering about them as well.
jlmdragon 21st Nov 2012, 4:15 AM edit delete reply
Well first of all the worgan curse is not as bad as the magical disease as that of lycanthropy from classic fantasy fiction, its origins stem from very old druidic magic, at its heart all it was meant to do was change one’s form, how ever as with all druid shape changing there is a danger, if one stayed in the transformed form for extended periods of time their mind slowly become more like the beast that they appear as with varying effects depending on what form the person took, with the worgan form it was more war like then the others and so the process was quicker, but this can and has happened to other druid orders (like the druids of the claw from the warcraft 3 game) therefore night eleves are no more immune or susceptible and its possible that with time the “curse” could pass on to other humanoids (its already made the jump from night elf to affecting humans, it could probably affect blood elves since they share a lineage to the night elves, and in time other race could also become affected. If I was to speculate any more on the worgan’s affliction I would say the old druid magic has slowly become more and more corrupt and that fixing would require altering the very nature of its magic, a job that should be tasked to either the green or blue dragon flight or both. As it is the magic will slowly get worse and spread further unless action is taken.
Sarion 18th Nov 2012, 5:30 PM edit delete reply
Hmm i wonder if Kinar got Anders from Mordin? and if the frostwyrm and Anders were related.
Nic 18th Nov 2012, 6:45 PM edit delete reply
If you don't mind me asking, what is with the split between the last 2 frames (with Kinar's fathers head and Kinar)? It seems that they are positioned is a way where they where once one, but has a white line go through them (since it looks like a little bit of drawing can make them seem to be 1 normal frame)
Just curios :)
Kiz 18th Nov 2012, 11:18 PM edit delete reply
Presumably the split is just to add variety to the page.

Imagine: had the last panels not been split, the full picture would likely have looked identical to the panel preceding it, since the characters have not moved.
Hiliru 21st Nov 2012, 6:06 AM edit delete reply
That, and if the panels weren't split it would probably either have been to big to fit the screen or zoomed out to much in such a way that the intended details would not be clearly visible.

If you look closely you can see that they are separate closeups of Kinar and her dad
